Security Officer - Commercial Site (Bank, London) Location: Mansion House Place, London Salary: £16.85 per hour Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, rotating days and nights.
The Role
Portal Security is offering an outstanding opportunity to join our team as a Front of House Security Officer at one of London’s most prestigious commercial addresses, located in the heart of the financial district just moments from Bank Station. This landmark building is home to leading businesses and VIP tenants, requiring a warm, professional welcome alongside the highest standards of service and security.
As a Front of House Security Officer, you will be the first point of contact for all visitors and clients, representing both the building and Portal Security with excellence, discretion, and professionalism.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering a five-star "meet and greet" service, creating a positive first impression for all guests and occupiers
- Providing clear directions, assistance, and reassurance to visitors in a customer-focused, approachable manner
- Managing visitor access and passes, ensuring the process is seamless and professional
- Maintaining an impeccable front-of-house presence, setting the tone for the building’s high standards
- Supporting the client and occupiers with a blend of service and security awareness
- Handling enquiries and communication via telephone, email, and radios with courtesy and efficiency
- Carrying out lobby and building patrols to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who combines polished customer service skills with a professional security background.
Essential:
- Valid SIA Licence
- Strong experience in front-of-house, reception, or corporate hospitality roles
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with people at all levels
- Clear and professional communication, both verbal and written
- IT literacy (Microsoft Office and visitor management systems)
- A demonstrable 5-year employment history for vetting (BS7858)
Desirable:
- First Aid training
- Experience in luxury, high-end, or corporate environments
- A natural ability to remain calm, approachable, and solution-focused under pressure
