We are seeking a Process Engineer to support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes. Based at our London site, this is a hands‑on, on‑site role working closely within the wider Process, Equipment and Automation team. You will be responsible for supporting process performance, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the development of more efficient and automated manufacturing methods. This role includes active participation in manufacturing activities, ensuring processes are understood, maintained, and continuously improved based on real operational experience.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Support manufacturing processes across:
- cartridge manufacture
- kitting & packaging
- Operate processes as required to support continuous flow manufacturing
- Assist in improving process performance, yield, and robustness
- Support definition and monitoring of critical process parameters (CPPs)
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of process issues
- Support equipment operation and basic maintenance activities
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of automation opportunities
- Apply process excellence and lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Support continuous improvement and process optimisation activities
- Assist in running trials to develop alternative or improved processes
- Author and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation
- Ensure accurate completion of manufacturing records
- Work closely with Operations and Systems/Quality to ensure controlled execution
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Biochemistry, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical environment
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Hands‑on mindset with the ability to work directly on processes and equipment
- Ability to follow and improve structured processes
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
Desirable
- Experience in manufacturing or process development environments
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or process excellence methodologies
- Interest in automation or engineering systems
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485)
- Experience supporting equipment or technical systems
