About the role
We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the finance function in a growing startup. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Processing purchase invoices (AP) and ensuring timely approvals
- Managing supplier payments and weekly payment runs
- Posting and reconciliation of credit cards and expenses
- Supporting bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow
- Assisting with month-end processes (accruals, prepayments, journals)
- Maintaining accurate records in the finance system currently Xero but transitioning to Sage Intacct
- Supporting expenses processing and payroll admin (if required)
- Helping improve finance processes as the business scales
What we’re looking for
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant role
- Good understanding of AP/AR processes
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Comfortable using Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage)
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to get stuck in
- Studying AAT (or interested in starting) is a plus
