We are looking for a Machinist to join our Metal Fabrication department based in York to ensure high standards of compliance with quality, technical specification, customer service and environmental requirements and to ensure Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised and facilitated

- Hourly rate: £17.15 + £2.40 fixed bonus scheme + Double Day Shift position, offering an attractive 25% shift premium (based only on the main hourly rate £17.15).
- Role based: New Lane, Huntington, York, YO32 9PT
- Contract type: Permanent
- Annual leave: 24 days + bank holidays
- Working hours: Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 4:30pm, on Fridays from 7:30am to 12:30pm
In this role you will be required to
- Operating CNC machinery within the Metal Fabrication Department ensuring all work areas are clean and tidy to achieve a safe working environment and an orderly standard.
- Be thorough in the separation and segregation of waste to meet environmental requirements.
- Reading drawings and Technical Specifications.
- Programming and operating CNC HAAS and Ficep machinery in the metal fabrication department as required.
- Work effectively as part of a team with all internal customers to ensure timescales for completing work are achieved and quality standards reached.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and/or Company Procedures/Policies relating to Health and Safety, inclusive of COSHH.
- Maintain accurate records of production, and other operational data required by Production Team Leader.
- Ensure that all laid Quality systems e. g.
ISO 9001 & 14001 are adhered to.
- Support continuous improvement to ensure the area is always looking at the best way to carry out a task.
- Our Ideal Candidate
- NVQ or C&G Apprentice trained CNC programming and machining.
- Experience programming and operating CNC HAAS and Ficep machinery
- Experience gained within a Metal Fabrication Department
- Excellent planning and organising skill
- Ability of problem solving/analytical thinking
- Health and Safety Qualification
- Strong operational experience related to trade/role
- Strong ability to making decision
