We are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Birmingham. As a Health and Safety Advisor, your role and remit will be to ensure day-to-day HSE compliance by managing accident, incident, near miss and don't walk by investigations and mitigation.

Role Details

  • Potential annual-on-target bonus of up to 5% subject to business performance
  • Role based: Can be based at any of our Midland offices in either Birmingham – B66 1AT, Peterborough – PE4 5ET or Nottingham – NG9 6DP. With travel around the Midlands region.
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Company Car
  • Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead accident/incident and near miss investigations, ensuring corrective actions are concluded and follow up closure of all issues.
  • Support safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards.
  • Communicate and reinforce HSE processes and procedures.
  • Develop and engage sound relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Carry out site audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation and information on all matters of HSE is provided in a timely and complete manner.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations, processes and procedures.
  • Competent in using Microsoft packages including MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Able to analyse and present data.
  • Skills: Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Communication, Analytical Skills, Problem Solving, Inspection & Auditing, Reporting.
