We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Operations Controller to join GB Hire in Trafford Park, Manchester. The role will provide both pre and post order support for all elements of project delivery and will involve travel on a daily basis to customer sites. The role is based in Manchester; however, you will also be able to work from other Hire Centres in the region to allow support of the team and access to local live sites.

You will provide project delivery support to the Project Management teams through the initial assessment of all logistic and cranage requirements for site works with subsequent provision of cost and risk mitigation measures as required. This includes initial site setup assessments, access, and egress for construction traffic, lifting operations, provision of welfare design in accordance with CDM 2015.

As a Site Operations Controller, you will focus primarily on providing adequate pre‑construction management to ensure that Portakabin sites are ‘ready for construction’. You will work closely with the projects team to develop safe, and cost effective installation and dismantle methodologies for Portakabin buildings whilst identifying and managing risks and opportunities.

Role Details:

  • Annual salary up to £42,000 dependent on skills and experience.
  • Role based: Trafford Park, Manchester, M17 1AW
  • Permanent
  • Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Ensure that all sites are planned and managed in accordance with appropriate H&S regulations, CDM 2015 regulations and industry approved codes of practice.
  • Attend site visits as required and support both the commercial and projects team through the provision of costs, development of risk registers, pre‑construction information and documentation to support the quotation process.
  • Ensure due consideration is given to all elements of the project at both pre‑construction and through the construction phases.
  • Provide technical and operational support, including the preparation of Lift Plans as an Appointed Person, for lifting operations in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Support the project team to effectively plan, manage and co‑ordinate site work, to include liaison with Portakabin distribution department, crane, and trackway suppliers to ensure site works proceed as planned.
  • Co‑ordinate with all statutory bodies as required to facilitate works.
  • Where required undertake duties of Portakabin Site Manager which includes to supervise employed and supplementary sub‑contract site teams to achieve the successful installation & dismantle of Portakabin Group products.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Understanding of off‑site construction methods.
  • Previous experience in Site project supervisory/management.
  • Health and Safety knowledge relating to Site Operations (to include preparation of RAMS and Lift Plans).
  • Strong technical knowledge of Building Regulations, HTM’s, HBN’s and CDM.
  • A sound understanding of CDM 2015.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
