  • Compensation: £40,000 – £42,500 per year (salary up to £42,500 depending on skills and experience)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year

Role Details

As a Production Team Leader, you will manage and motivate a team of operatives to deliver the daily operational plan, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality production that consistently meets customer requirements and business goals.

  • Allocate work and plan resources effectively to meet operational outputs and achieve KPIs related to time, cost, quality and Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Proactively support and uphold HSE standards, including leading engagement initiatives, managing accident and incident reporting, and conducting investigations.
  • Conduct regular meaningful conversations with team members to maintain high performance standards.
  • Develop the team by ensuring necessary skills, qualifications and training are in place.
  • Prepare, review and maintain Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other documentation essential to operational deliverables.
  • Implement and continuously apply best-in-class lean practices and champion continuous improvement to drive performance.
  • Ensure production schedule for the line/cell is delivered on time, to quality and cost, in line with OLE and OPI.
  • Maintain a consistent focus on safety, product standards and productivity.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead an engaged, multi-skilled team.
  • Ensure equipment, machinery and tooling are well maintained.
  • Minimise actions or non-conformities in audits and resolve non-conformance actions promptly.
  • Uphold high standards in all documentation.

Our Ideal Candidate

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in managing people in an operational environment.
  • Experience operating in low or high volume manufacturing.
  • Understanding of manufacturing practices and methods such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Preferably holds a health and safety qualification such as IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent.
  • Grade differentiators – level of experience and knowledge applied, scope and complexity of responsibilities, number and skills of team members supervised.
