Role: Head of Commercial

Salary: €100k - €110k + Yearly Bonus + Electric Company Car and EV charging point if required

Location: Donabate, Ireland - Occasional travel to the Head Office in York

We are looking for an ambitious, sales-minded, commercially driven individual to join our successful senior leadership team as our next Head of Commercial in Ireland. As our next Head of Commercial, you will be driving our business forward, assisting the Managing Director in the development of a comprehensive divisional strategy, in line with the strategic direction of the Portakabin business.

This role requires a senior, professional individual who is sales-minded and has a wealth of experience, successfully managing sales managers and who is commercially driven. To excel in this role, you will need to be dedicated to the successful performance of your team and committed to continuously striving for improvement. Role Responsibilities:

• A commercially focused, entrepreneurial and results-driven leader that shall execute the business strategies of Portakabin (Ireland) Limited delivering turnover, profit, and financial targets for the entire island of Ireland.
• Leading a team of professionals, your role is to drive excellence and performance. You will be responsible for preparing annual budgets and financial plans, mitigating risk, and working closely with other departments.
• Develop a specification-based sales approach enabling the commercial team to provide clarity of specification to the customer which can easily be translated into an accurate scope of works that can be used for pricing and production planning and agreement on potential variations.
• Ensure that stretching targets for Building Services products are achieved on a consistent basis across all depots and product categories (Modular and Single Modular Buildings).
• Ensure that every opportunity to secure preferential terms are secured by the commercial team.
• Ensure a smooth transition of information from Commercial to Operations resulting in a finished product that is aligned with the specification agreed with the customer.
• Coach, lead, develop and motivate the team to ensure performance and order values are maximised.

Essential Criteria for the Head of Commercial:

• Experience in a commercial management position, leading, developing and motivating teams with a natural coaching style.
• Influencing at a strategic level.
• Experience in the construction/manufacturing industry and an understanding of construction project management and scheduling.
• Experience of working collaboratively with other senior stakeholders to ensure strategic objectives are delivered.
• Knowledge of legal compliance management.
• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (Business Engineering).
• Full Irish driving licence - Travelling to meet with clients.
• Experience using CRM systems.
