Portakabin are looking for a Head of Quality to join our successful team at our Head office in York (must live locally). This is a critical role that enables you to make a meaningful impact throughout.
As an experienced Head of Quality, you will develop, align and lead quality assurance activities across the organisation in the UK and Europe, ensuring products, services and processes meet customer, regulatory and business requirements. Once fully trained and competent in the role, there will be the option to work from home 1–2 days per week. The role will also involve occasional business travel, with flexibility to stay overnight when required.
Role Details:
- Annual salary up to £75,000 - dependent on skills and experience.
- On-target annual bonus of up to 15%, with the potential to earn up to a maximum of 30% based on business and departmental performance.
- Role based: New Lane, Huntington, York, YO32 9PT - Must live within 1 hour of the office.

In this role you will be required to:
- Identify opportunities for improvement across business units and Functions in the UK and Europe, developing initiatives to enhance business performance.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Develop and Deliver our Quality KPI scorecard and drive a Right First Time Culture.
- Develop, maintain and manage the Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and associated procedures.
- Ensure continued compliance and maintenance of all our external quality related audits and accreditations.
- Manage non-conformances, defect investigations, corrective and preventative actions to closure, ensuring effective root cause analysis and sustained solutions.
- Advise the business on changes to ISO standards and provide professional guidance on legislative or regulatory changes and quality-related matters.
- Apply risk management techniques to assess, prevent and minimise quality issues.
- Provide independent evaluation of product development lifecycles and processes.
- Lead and participate in third-party, internal and supply chain audits.
- Develop and track quality measures to monitor performance and drive improvement.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Recognised as a thought leader, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to quality challenges and drive change through to completion through engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of Quality – preferably within a related field (precision engineering/construction etc).
- Management Systems and ISO standards.
- Chartered Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
- Ability to lead the ISO standards audit.
- Commitment to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
