Portakabin are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team based at our Head office in York.
As an experienced Project Engineer you will lead provide project engineering design and technical expertise for new and existing modular building projects.
Role Details- Annual salary up to Β£47,500 dependent on skills and experience. Plus an annual on target bonus of up to 10%

- Annual leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays and opportunity to buy an additional 5 days each year.
- Deliver technical design and specification services, interface and collaborate with design and project delivery teams to ensure designs are completed in line with programme requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external professionals to assess the feasibility of projects and designs, particularly in relation to technical requirements and non-standard modular detailing.
- Prepare design briefs, specifications and scopes of work in both written and drawn formats to support procurement of design and build sub-contract packages.
- Review contract documents and produce specialist scopes of work, coordinating and reviewing sub-contract designs throughout the construction process.
- Ensure customer requirements and specifications are accurately interpreted and delivered within agreed cost, timescale and statutory and regulatory parameters.
- Adapt designs in response to changing circumstances, resolving issues that arise during design, development and construction.
- Inspect and review engineering solutions to confirm compliance with design intent and robust installation across off-site manufacture and on-site construction, including foundation surveys.
- Attend site meetings to provide technical project engineering support.
- Lead and motivate engineers, providing direction, day-to-day guidance and mentoring to support development and performance.

- Qualified to degree level in Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Design or related discipline, or with equivalent experience.
- Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer, or working toward Chartered status, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of best practice in both permanent and modular building engineering.
- Proven ability to lead project teams, plan effectively and solve problems proactively.
- Skilled in influencing internal and external stakeholders.
- Established professional network within the sector.
