Overview
Role: Electrician
Salary: Β£16.56 per hour + additional merit, overtime and testing hourly rate where applicable
Role based: Oldham
We are looking for an Electrician to join Manchester Hire Centre in Oldham. As an Electrician you will carry out electrical testing, electrical installation works and amendments to existing circuits along with the refurbishment and fit out the complete range of Portakabin buildings to the highest possible standards, as well as aftersales, rectification and problem solving work.
Travel: You will be traveling to different depots and client sites. A company van will be available for the travelling. You must have the availability to travel and on occasion overnight stays.
As an Electrician, you will
- Understand and apply the electrical principles and works associated with the design, building, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety practices and all applicable legislation to encourage and maintain zero harm environment and culture.
- Design and install electrical systems incorporating all types of electrical materials, ensuring that all installations meet current regulations.
- Ensure that all buildings are tested to the required standards, including the completion of appropriate documentation/certification where applicable.
- Conduct fault finding and undertake rectifications of existing systems both on and off site.
Our ideal candidate
- Achieved a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship Scheme / Indentures (or AM2) & City & Guilds 2360 or NVQ Level 3 electrical installation
- City & Guilds 2380/2381 (IEE Wiring Regs β 18th Edition) or JIB Card β Electrician (Must include IEE Wiring Regs 18th Edition)
- City & Guilds 2395 Inspection, Testing and Certification
- Ideally with previous experience working within the construction industry, however if you hold the relevant qualifications and the right learning attitude, we will consider little or no experience
- Will also have an understanding of the relevant health and safety practices and applicable legislation
- Good organisation & planning skills
- Holds a full UK Driving License
