Your Role:
You will play a key part in producing accurate 2D AutoCAD designs for steel‑framed buildings, supporting the Technical Design Manager, and helping to maintain and improve our internal design standards. This is a hands‑on technical role where attention to detail, initiative, and a collaborative approach are essential. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of high‑quality building solutions and the continuous improvement of our design processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate sales designs for steel‑framed buildings using 2D AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with internal design standards, client briefs, and relevant legislation.
- Create, update, and maintain internal design standards.
- Develop and maintain the internal AutoCAD block library.
- Provide clear and accurate technical design information to internal teams and external customers.
- Support the Technical Design Manager with design tasks, project requirements, and process improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the design function.
- Promote and uphold a positive, ethical, and collaborative team culture.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience using 2D AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of offsite building design principles.
- Experience working within a drawing office environment.
- Strong communication skills; approachable and professional.
- Ability to work under your own initiative.
- Consistent ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and client briefs.
- Good problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach.
Additional Skills & Experience (Not Essential):
- A recognised qualification in a relevant field.
- Working knowledge of current UK Building Regulations.
- 5+ years’ AutoCAD experience.
- Understanding of AutoCAD dynamic blocks.
