We are seeking an experienced

EHS Manager to provide both strategic and operational leadership for Environment, Health and Safety across our manufacturing site.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring legal compliance, driving continuous improvement, embedding a proactive safety culture and supporting operational excellence.

  • Lead the site's Environment, Health and Safety strategy, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, corporate standards and internal policies.
  • Develop, implement and continuously improve EHS management systems, processes and programmes.
  • Drive the site's risk assessment programme, ensuring effective control measures are implemented, monitored and regularly reviewed.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring robust corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
  • Champion a positive behavioural safety culture through coaching, engagement and visible leadership across all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide expert EHS advice and guidance to the Site Leadership Team, managers and employees, supporting informed decision-making and compliance.
  • Lead internal EHS audits, coordinate external inspections and ensure timely completion of all audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities, insurers and other external stakeholders.
  • Monitor, analyse and report EHS performance, using data and trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and legal requirements.
  • Manage EHS governance activities, including claims management, legal reporting and insurance coordination.
  • Develop, deliver and continuously enhance EHS training and competency programmes to build capability and maintain compliance across the site.
  • Work collaboratively with operational and functional teams to embed EHS into everyday decision-making and support the delivery of business objectives.
  • We're Looking for Someone With (Skills & Experience)

Essential

  • Degree qualified in an EHS-related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (essential).
  • Previous EHS leadership experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining EHS management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and develop effective working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ability to coach, challenge and support leaders in embedding a proactive and positive safety culture.
  • A proactive, resilient and collaborative approach, with the confidence to influence change and challenge where appropriate.

Desirable

  • Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards Chartered status.
  • Experience leading behavioural safety and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Experience working within a global manufacturing organisation.
