Our brand is synonymous with luxury lighting and furniture, supplying many of the most prestigious hotel, yachts, and residential projects around the world. The Porta Romana team is around 120 employees, based either in Farnham or at our London showroom. All our product development, casting, decorative finishing, assembly, and wiring work is undertaken in-house, and we also work with many other skilled artisans around the UK and beyond, to create pieces for our collection. We are looking for creative individuals to assist in our Workshop decorating our products on a part-time, temp to perm contract (initially 3 months). Responsibilities Your main responsibilities will involve preparing products, so they are ready for their decorative painted finishes. It will involve using a range of techniques, including gilding metal and resin products with gold and silver leaf, applying paints, waxes, spray painting. You will be working on chandeliers, mirrors, tables and lamps. Skills and Experience - This role would suit candidates with an art (fine art) and/or creative background, who are interested in hands-on practical artist studio work. - Experience of decorative painting or gilding is welcome but not necessary as full training will be provided. - You will need to have good attention to detail and be consistent with your work. - A strong ability to follow instructions and manage your time well is also essential.
