Key Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining effective security arrangements, including pass security and personal/vehicle searches, in line with the ISPS Code and other statutory regulations.
- Help operate gates, barriers, traffic control, and other access controls.
- Complete records, log sheets, and search forms, and report any deficiencies, events, or incidents.
- Support the investigation and reporting of incidents when requested.
- Carry out foot and mobile patrols, CCTV surveillance, and gatehouse duties.
- Assist with administering the vehicle ID and permit system, including producing security passes.
- Deal with visitors and general enquiries professionally, communicating company policies and procedures.
- Carry out day-to-day equipment checks, fault reporting, and logging.
- Support general housekeeping in and around the security gates/office.
- Take part in safety and security drills, exercises, and training, including staff familiarisation.
- Help respond to incidents and emergencies, including calling out relevant staff and emergency services.
- Support the evacuation of the Tyne Dock estate in the event of fire or terrorist threat.
- Support the Marine Department with planning vessel movements and berthing/un-berthing.
