Location: Port of Tilbury, Leslie Ford House, Port of Tilbury London Ltd
Compensation: Salary £43,296 per year, plus shift allowance £5,551 and overtime
Hours: 4 on, 4 off rotation of days and nights including weekends
Overview
As Warehouse Supervisor at 26th Berth, you will manage people, plant, automation and other resources to achieve shift targets, ensuring high customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Achieve high customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, despatching, and assuring quality of goods.
- Ensure maintenance standards, compliance with health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Measure and report effectiveness of asset/warehousing activities and employee performance.
- Organise and maintain inventory and storage areas.
- Ensure shipment and inventory transaction accuracy.
- Communicate job expectations and coach employees to deliver performance and productivity.
- Determine staffing levels and assign workload.
- Interface with customers to answer questions or solve problems.
- Maintain records, document necessary information, and use reports to project warehouse status and peak requirements.
- Identify areas of improvement, establish or adjust work procedures and practices.
- Collaborate with other departments and the Group to ensure timely, accurate and cost‑effective operations.
- Support and implement company initiatives contributing to the business 5‑year plan.
- Handle other projects or duties as required for the Port and Group business.
- Operate appropriate plant and equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience in a unionised environment with established collective agreements.
- Experience coordinating and overseeing daily warehouse operations.
- Competent in analysing input, retrieving and analysing data.
- Experience with Transporeon and SAP preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 and warehouse management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Skilled at building effective working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Full UK driving licence.
