About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Health & Safety Trainer, reporting to the Learning & Development Manager. This vital role will support the delivery of technical and health & safety training across the business, helping to ensure our people are confident, competent, and safe in their roles.
As the subject matter expert for technical and operational training, you will provide proactive guidance and support to both the L&D team and wider business. You’ll play a key part in shaping our training standards, ensuring they align with industry best practices and foster a culture of continuous learning and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify current and future Training needs from across the business and provide cost-effective solutions.
- Design, develop and deliver learning solutions for the business and external customers. Facilitation will include practical, classroom and online training delivery.
- Support, update and deliver renewal / refresher training to improve technical knowledge and performance of teams, including the creation and delivery of online content.
- Implement improvements in the design of existing training and identify opportunities for creating new training initiatives.
- Develop frameworks to evidence operator competence across the business.
- Update the contents of training materials to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company requirements ensuring group alignment.
- Compile, analyse and report on training and performance data.
- Support with the development of digital technologies for Training.
- Participate as a member of Group project teams to achieve successful completion of business objective.
- Lead on maintaining current centre accreditation and seek new opportunities for additional accredited training.
- Review and audit the Company’s continuous assessment process and report findings to line management.
- As a subject matter expert, you will remain up-to-date with Industry knowledge and standards to include changes in plant/equipment/health and safety.
- Provide advice to various departments across the Group in relation to Operational Training.
- Undertake any CPD required for the role.
We’re looking for a proactive and confident communicator with experience in a similar role, who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment. You’ll be someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality training and has a strong understanding of health and safety. This is an onsite role with flexibility around working hours, but you’ll need to be prepared for occasional early starts to support operational training events. A team player with the ability to work independently, you’ll be comfortable engaging with people at all levels across the business.
Skills & Qualifications
- Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH)
- Teaching or training background
- NPORS/RTITB Instructor accreditation
- Technical certifications (e.g. Working at Height, Lifting Operations, IPAF, Plant tickets)
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital content creation
- Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to interpret safety rules and procedural documentation
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and respect for confidentiality
- Willingness and ability to learn new theoretical and practical skills
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces
- Effective time management and workload planning
- Full driving licence is essential
