Global Energy Services Holding (GESH) is a leading provider of integrated port infrastructure, fabrication, and industrial services to the energy sector. Following its acquisition by Mitsui and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, GESH is undertaking a targeted programme of growth to strengthen its position at the forefront of the Energy Transition and Renewables markets.

Central to this strategy is the continued development of the Port of Nigg and GESH’s wider fabrication and energy services businesses. Through sustained investment and expansion, GESH has established a world class energy hub, alongside transferable capabilities that support industrial energy delivery, offshore wind heavy lift marshalling, pre-assembly, and large-scale fabrication both at Nigg and across other UK locations.

The Port of Nigg has played a key role in the delivery of four offshore wind farms to date and continues to support a diverse mix of oil and gas, renewables, and fabrication activity. These capabilities are complemented by GESH’s broader service offering, enabling the Group to support clients across multiple sites, ports, and project geographies.

With a strong project pipeline and further offshore and onshore energy developments secured through the coming decade, GESH offers the opportunity to be part of an organisation shaping the future of low carbon energy infrastructure in the UK and internationally.

We are recruiting a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for driving revenue growth across assigned portfolios, including Fabrication, Port Operations, IRM and Access Solutions/Working at Height. The role will focus on developing and building client relationships, generating and qualifying opportunities, and converting sales pipeline into contract awards across oil and gas, renewables, and adjacent industrial markets. The BDM will operate as an integral part of the wider Commercial team.

The BDM will be front-end, sales-execution focused, owning client engagement, opportunity progression, and bid conversion, while working closely with Estimating, Operations, and the wider Commercial team to ensure opportunities are competitive, deliverable, and margin aligned.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute a targeted sales plan for the assigned business unit aligned to Group strategic priorities and revenue targets.
  • Own client and account management across priority customers, securing access to buyer and procurement decision makers.
  • Proactively generate, qualify, and progress sales opportunities from early engagement through to contract award.
  • Lead client engagement to influence scope definition, packaging, and procurement approach ahead of formal tender issue.
  • Manage opportunities through CRM, maintaining accurate pipeline visibility, probability weighting, and forecast discipline.
  • Lead or support bid submissions from a commercial perspective, coordinating inputs from estimating, operations, and engineering.
  • Drive framework, partnership, and preferred supplier routes to market in preference to one-off transactional tenders.
  • Maintain pricing discipline, supporting bid selectivity and margin protection in line with commercial governance.
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to increase market visibility and reputation.
  • Work collaboratively across Group businesses to support integrated service offerings where appropriate.
Knowledge & ExperienceEssential
  • Proven sales and business development experience in industrial services, fabrication, scaffolding, oil and gas, renewables, or adjacent sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure work through direct client engagement and procurement led tender processes.
  • Strong understanding of contracting, pricing, and commercial risk in project based environments.
  • Experience managing sales pipelines through CRM systems with forecast and conversion discipline.
  • Track record of building long term client relationships and securing repeat work or frameworks.
Desirable
  • Experience selling Energy Service Solutions, IRM, fabrication, access, scaffolding, or site services in offshore, energy, or heavy industrial markets.
  • Exposure to renewables, offshore wind, or infrastructure transition markets.
  • Experience working within multi business or integrated service organisations.
Competencies
  • Commercially driven with a clear focus on sales revenue, margin, and conversion.
  • Confident engaging senior client stakeholders and procurement teams.
  • Relationship builder.
  • Disciplined and structured in opportunity qualification and pipeline management.
  • Collaborative, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Resilient, proactive, and comfortable operating in competitive markets.
