We are seeking 10 dedicated HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our expanding team in Middlesbrough.
You will play a vital role in ensuring efficient transportation and delivery services that support our operation.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a company committed to growth and delivering an excellent service.
Day Driver
- £14.39 per hour, overtime minimum £19.19 per hour. Average earnings £40K-£52K per year, dependent upon hours worked.
Night Driver
- £17.37 per hour, overtime minimum £22.78 per hour. Average earnings £40K-£52K per year, dependent upon hours worked, nights out and overtime.
The key responsibilities of the roles include
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles on scheduled daytime routes.
- Deliver goods safely, efficiently, and on time while following company policies and road traffic regulations.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks before and after each shift, reporting any defects promptly.
- Load, unload, and supervise the safe loading of goods when required.
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage, fuel usage, and other transport documentation.
- Complete tachograph records accurately and comply with all drivers’ hours and legislative requirements.
- Communicate effectively with transport planners, dispatchers, customers, and site personnel.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, safe working practices, and company operating standards.
- Represent the company professionally by providing excellent customer service during collections and deliveries.
The successful applicant will have
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving license.
- Proven experience within one or more of the following areas; Containers, Flatbed, Tippers, Extender Trailers
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
