Maintenance Technician - The Role:
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join us to undertake maintenance, repairs and installations to upgrade diesel, electric and autonomous HGV terminal tractors with regards to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems at the Port of Felixstowe.
Maintenance Technician - Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, oversee and rectify electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults on HGVs and chassis mounted equipment and associated workshop equipment
- Ensure repairs and servicing is conducted to a high standard and in-line with manufacturer's specifications
- Ensure electrical/mechanical installations on the Port's plant/equipment are repaired and maintained in a safe, cost-effective manner with minimal operational disruption
- Prioritising safety and work to meet all the business requirements at the Port of Felixstowe, whilst ensuring the maintenance and installations are managed safely
- Regular progress reports on all maintenance, installation and commissioning work and updating the current status of all on-going repair work to supervisors and management staff
- Working to ensure compliance to all policies, safe codes of practice, procedures and standard operating practices with recommendations for action to instruct continuous improvement
Maintenance Technician - You:
- ONC (Ordinary National Certificate) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering along with demonstration of a proven practical capability in mechanical/electrical engineering on heavy plant or automotive technology
- Ability to diagnose complex faults, sometimes with limited data/history
- Able to work within a fast-paced environment both individually and as part of a team
- Full DVLA UK Drivers License
