Hutchison Ports (UK) - Port of Felixstowe is the largest deep-water Port in the UK and to support our continued growth and development, we plan to recruit Port Operatives to join us in this integral role to move containers across all areas of the Port. However, as the business outlook is uncertain at present, please note that we are primarily looking to build up an applicant pool at this point so we can start recruitment quickly as and when we need to.
Experience is not required as full training is provided, but a positive work ethic is essential alongside a can-do attitude, reliability, flexibility and the ability to learn and develop new skills. The successful applicants would receive a basic salary of £32,160 per annum (plus up to £3,896 per year in shift pay and up to £2,923 bonus, subject to scheme rules). Working hours are based on 50% fixed shifts (4 on 4 off, 2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 off) and 50% flexible shifts where your shifts are allocated based on workload.
Essential requirements:
- Must hold a full DVLA licence (manual) for a minimum of one year
- Aged 18 or over
- Willing to be trained for internal tractor / tug driving
- Flexible approach to working patterns (days/nights/weekends/bank holidays)
- You must weigh less than 140kg due to health and safety regulations
