This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in procurement and supply chain management, while developing strong data analysis and commercial skills within a complex operational environment. Working closely with experienced Category Managers and procurement professionals, you will support strategic sourcing activities, supplier management, contract oversight, and procurement data analysis across a range of spend categories. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in data, commercial decision making, and continuous improvement, who is keen to learn in a fast‑paced, professional setting. This will be a Level 4 apprenticeship starting in September 2026 for a duration of 24 months plus end‑point assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support sourcing activities through supplier research, market analysis, and data gathering.
- Assist with the preparation of tender documentation, including specifications, evaluation criteria, and draft contracts.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure documentation is up to date.
- Monitor supplier performance and gather stakeholder feedback.
- Attend supplier meetings, taking notes and tracking follow‑up actions.
- Track contract timelines, renewals, and compliance requirements.
- Support invoice reconciliation and resolve basic supplier or finance queries.
- Contribute to sustainability, ESG, and value‑for‑money initiatives within procurement decisions.
Data, Reporting & Insights
- Use procurement systems and e‑tendering platforms to input data and generate reports.
- Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and KPIs for procurement and finance stakeholders.
- Clean, validate, and maintain procurement datasets from multiple sources.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities through data analysis and benchmarking.
- Monitor supplier risks, delivery performance, and compliance metrics.
- Assist with automation of recurring reports and improvement of data workflows.
- Translate data insights into clear, actionable information that supports decision making and transactional excellence.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with procurement, finance, and operational teams to align insights with business objectives.
- Participate in procurement training sessions, workshops, and team meetings.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of procurement processes, adopting leaner practices where appropriate.
About You
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent, including Maths and English.
- A Level 3 qualification in data analysis, economics, or a construction‑related subject.
- Strong interest in data analysis and commercial environments.
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail, with strong analytical and planning skills.
Desirable
- Experience in a similar role or apprenticeship.
- Full UK driving licence.
