As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager’s team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Updating ledger postings for Port's assets
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
- Processing month-end journals
- Preparing month-end accrual and prepayment schedules
- Contributing to the monthly management accounts
- Assisting with the audit of staff expenses
Your ability to manage peaks and troughs in workload will be essential, ensuring that team objectives are met on time.
Hours of Work: Full-time, with flexibility required during peak periods.
Assistant Accountant Requirements:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- AAT Level 3 (minimum) qualification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance environment
- Proficient in computerised office systems, particularly Microsoft Office
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with a keen numerical aptitude
