About the Role
We are inviting applications for the position of Tier 2 Stevedore, a key operational role within Port of Dover Cargo Ltd. As a fully trained and qualified member of our Operational Team, you will support the safe, efficient loading, unloading, and handling of a wide range of cargo across vessels, quayside, and warehouse environments.
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to individuals who thrive in a dynamic operational setting and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, teamwork, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
As a Tier 2 Stevedore, you will:
• Operate a range of plant and equipment, including 16 tonne forklifts, tugs/maffi, pallet trucks, and reach trucks.
• Carry out slinger/signaller duties and work as a hatch person (including steel vessels).
• Support container lashing, including fitting and removing twist locks.
• Assist with mooring and unmooring of vessels and gangway provision.
• Participate in vessel operations, including entering hatches to load/unload cargo such as vehicles, steel, pallets, grain, and containers.
• Work within the warehouse, including put-away, picking, and loading activities.
• Support other departments across the Port, including Cruise and Eastern Docks, as required.
• Complete operational documentation accurately using both paper and electronic systems (including tablets).
• Assist in the training and onboarding of new staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Essential)
• 16 tonne Forklift Truck Operator qualification
• Slinger/Signaller experience
• Tug/Maffi experience
• Competent forklift, pallet truck, and reach truck operator
• Mooring experience
• Experience working in vessel hatches, including steel vessels
• Manual handling knowledge
• Proven experience in a similar operational role
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Ability to work at heights

Desirable Skills (Training Can Be Provided)
• Knowledge of lifting equipment applications
• Understanding of H&SAWA regulations
• Ability to interpret SWL/WLL test certificates
• Experience with risk assessment processes

Hours of work: 40 hrs per week

Salary: IRO £31,500
