We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to carry out all aspects of improvement, maintenance and repair works to the Board's assets within the team's particular area of expertise. This will require considerable technical knowledge over a wide range of engineering plant, equipment, and installations.
You will be required to carry out maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment within the ports portfolio which includes Linkspans, HGV's, RORO Tugs, Cranes, Hydraulic systems, vehicles, and small floating craft. You will be required to carry out this work to a very high standard, working on one's own initiative and with minimal supervision.
Skills and Qualifications
- Apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline to minimum NVQ level 3 standard and associated C&G's or equivalent
- 3 years post trade-qualification experience in relevant discipline
- Hydraulic, heavy machinery, plant and or vehicle experience
- Experience of reviewing and creating RAMS
- Experience of Mechanical assessments and fault diagnosis
- Technical specialist knowledge in a wide range of plant and equipment
- Good standard of IT literacy
- Full driving licence
- Experience of welding/fabrication would be advantageous

Salary: Up to £40k DOE
