Port Training Services (PTS), training division of the Port of Blyth, are a specialist training provider delivering fully accredited, industry recognised qualifications for companies and individuals serving the Port & Marine, Warehousing & Logistics, Heavy Industry, Subsea and Offshore Energy sectors. Due to expanding activities, PTS are looking for a new Instructor/Assessor to join the team at their facility in Blyth, Northumberland.
The Role
To deliver and develop the current PTS training portfolio, which includes but is not limited to managing a portfolio of apprentices across the UK, NPORS and GWO accredited training courses, industrial plant, and H&S training. As Instructor/Assessor, the candidate will report directly to the Head of Training and:
- Provide a high-quality service to all customers.
- Ensure H&S is always maintained to the highest level.
- Actively deliver training courses onsite at PTS premises in Blyth and offsite at client premises across the UK.
- Ensure the correct equipment, personnel and facilities are available for each course and are always maintained to the highest standard.
- Assist in managing relationships with external accrediting bodies.
- Work to continuously improve the services of PTS.
- Work closely with the wider PTS team to develop and introduce new products as required.
- Assist in maintaining and achieving industry accreditations.
- Able to maintain relationships with external/internal customers and suppliers.
- Work effectively with the PTS administration team to ensure all training administration is managed effectively and efficiently.
Skills & Experience
Essential to the role:
- Proven track record as an instructor/assessor
- Proven experience operating in a Port environment
- Experience of operating heavy plant e.g., forklift
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education & Training)
- Relevant assessor qualification (e.g., Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
- Full driving license
Desirable for the role:
- IOSH Managing Safely (or higher)
- First Aid Qualification
- Lifting and Crane Operation experience
Travel/Overnight Stays
The role is based from our head office (Energy Central Learning Hub, Blyth) at the Port of Blyth, however the role will require training to be delivered at client sites across the UK (all expenses covered).
Other
Normal PTS business hours are 8am-5pm. Contracted hours will be 37.5 hours per week. In return, we offer an attractive remuneration package including:
