As a Buyer Lead, you will provide commercial support to Porsche Cars Great Britain (PCGB) and Porsche Retail Group (PRG) by managing the procurement process for Porsche's indirect spend activities. As a key member of the Purchasing team, you will help strengthen and evolve the Purchasing function within PCGB, driving it to the next strategic level and leading innovation within PRG's procurement operations. This role covers PCGB's Head Office in Reading, all seven PRG Centres (Reading, Guildford, Hatfield, West London, South London, East London, and Mayfair), the Distribution Centre, the Experience Centre, and contracts supporting service centres.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tender processes for identified opportunities within defined value thresholds
  • Collaborate with PRG Centres and PCGB HQ to develop sourcing strategies, leveraging scale and synergies across the retail group
  • Support group‑level reviews to identify and deliver improved supplier performance, efficiency gains, cost‑saving opportunities, and added value from strategic suppliers
  • Prepare supplier appointment recommendations, review and create purchase orders for PCGB and PRG, and analyse procurement data to identify opportunities
  • Accredit and manage the supplier base in close cooperation with Finance and Legal teams
  • Assist in building group supplier portfolios and framework agreements
  • Support the PCGB Purchasing Manager in developing the group function, including providing absence cover
  • Offer advice and support on effective supplier management practices
  • Authorise and release purchase orders within PRG's purchasing system and SAP, up to applicable value thresholds
  • Assist in managing the purchasing process by implementing group purchasing policies
  • Deliver proactive training and on‑site support to PCGB and PRG colleagues
  • Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and provide ongoing support to all stakeholders

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working in Purchasing
  • Retail or Automotive background
  • Experience with e‑procurement tools and digital sourcing platforms
  • Advanced SAP knowledge and reporting capabilities

Desirable Qualifications

  • Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS or equivalent)
  • Proactive approach to process improvement and innovation
