Trainee Earthing Engineer
Salary β Β£26,208 per annum + Β£40/night for working away
Location β Based out of Nottingham with UK wide travel (vehicle provided)
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK\βs largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Trainee Earthing Engineer and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth.
This is a field based, UK wide role, so it is imperative that you are happy to travel /work away from home and hold a full, clean UK drivers licence.
Benefecial Competencies: CSCS card, Pasma, IPAF
GCSE or \\\βO\\\β Level in English Language, Mathematics and a Science Subject
Role & Responsibilities
- Installation and testing of Earthing systems to LV/HV/GIS sub stations, power generating stations, CNI, waste to power plants, wind farms, Solar parks, telecommunications, Data Centres, water industry and MOD infrastructures.
- Lightning protection systems to all types of buildings. ( Concrete, rebar, steel frame, traditional build )
- Liaising with the client on site and dealing with design issues with the architects and project managers etc.
- To ensure that works that fall within our scope are carried out in a safe, diligent, professional and timely manner
- Generators/Current Transformers/Voltage Transformers/Super Gird Transformers/Shunt Reactors.
- Continuity/Slope/Electrode/Resistivity/Fall of Potential Testing
- Support to other areas of the business where required β PowerFence and Geoquip Technologies
- Use of Earthing test Meters and Micro Ohm Meters
- Silfos Oxy/Propane Brazing and Exothermic Welding
- Completion of precise Engineering Reports and recording of site data.
- Ordering of components and equipment where required
- Responsibility for Van Stock / Replenishment and Stock Taking
- Competency in problem solving and an ability to make diligent recommendations
- Demonstration to Clients and End Users of completed systems or individual work(s)
- Provide training to other Engineers and Company Staff where required
- Arranging PAT / CAT and Meter Calibrations for company issued equipment
- Completion of Asset Tagging and Registration of Information
