Our client is a leading company in the construction and property sector, seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the North East of England. This will be a hybrid role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes managing costs, preparing estimates, valuations, and ensuring the efficient management of resources while maintaining project profitability and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and subcontractor payments.
  • Assess contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards.
  • Provide commercial support to the project team and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Produce detailed reports on project progress, budgets, and cost management.
  • Assist with procurement processes and negotiation of contracts.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and commercial practices.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Professional membership with RICS or CIOB.
  • Familiarity with NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
