We are seeking a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer with strong industrial experience and a background in mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will have exposure to the process industry and proven experience working on tank storage projects. This role involves supporting the design, assessment, and delivery of structural solutions across industrial facilities, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out structural design and analysis for industrial facilities, equipment supports, and storage tanks.
- Provide engineering input during feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning stages.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with mechanical, civil, and process engineers to develop integrated solutions.
- Conduct site inspections, structural assessments, and integrity reviews of storage tanks and supporting infrastructure.
- Support project delivery, from initial concept through to detailed design and handover.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and calculations to a high professional standard.
Requirements
- Degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status (ICE, IStructE, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in industrial and process engineering environments.
- Strong mechanical engineering background with knowledge of structural applications.
- Hands-on experience with tank storage facilities or similar heavy industrial projects (highly desirable).
- Proficient in structural design software and CAD tools.
- Excellent knowledge of relevant codes and standards (Eurocodes, API, BS, ASME, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Desirable
- Previous work within oil & gas, chemicals, or energy industries.
- Experience with structural integrity management of above-ground storage tanks.
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and inspection methods for tankage.
