The Prescribing Support Team is a high‑performing, experienced and well‑established team that works across all GP practices in Wolverhampton Place. We are looking for a highly motivated primary care pharmacist to join the Prescribing Support Team (BCICB Pharmacy Team). The team leads Wolverhampton Place prescribing projects and collaborates with the wider Black Country ICB pharmacy teams to develop medicine and prescribing services and strategies. You will work at PCN and practice level to support and implement cost‑effective prescribing and promote effective medicines optimisation and safety.
Main Duties
- Assist the PST in achieving a pattern of prescribing in primary care that maximises cost effectiveness and minimises risk while delivering SLA specifications with Wolverhampton Place and Black Country ICB.
- Promote effective medicines optimisation, providing education and training for healthcare professionals and enabling patients to get more from their medicines.
- Undertake and develop clinical audits to promote best prescribing practice in line with local and national clinical guidelines and safety advice.
- Clinically assess, diagnose and prescribe for complex patients to deliver high quality patient care using cost‑effective evidence‑based treatments.
