Role: Part-Time Gardener Days: 2–3 days per week (20–30 hours p/w) Location: Bruton, Somerset Salary:£20–£25 per hour (negotiable, depending on experience) Contract: Ongoing Start: Mid-September 2025 We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly-skilled Part-Time Gardener to join a beautiful private estate near Bruton, Somerset The role is ideally suited to someone with excellent plant knowledge, strong seasonal awareness, and a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to maintaining high horticultural standards. The successful candidate will have proven experience working in private Estates, will be confident working proactively, managing time effectively, and responding intuitively to the evolving needs of the property. They will be self-motivated, discreet, and local with own Key Responsibilities: * General maintenance including lawn mowing, weeding, hedge cutting, blowing, and strimming * Lawn care expertise, including scarifying, aerating, and seasonal treatment planning * Maintenance of herbaceous borders, orchids, fruit and vegetable beds, and pond / water features * Maintenance of irrigation systems * Tree work, including pruning, felling, and root removal (chainsaw certification highly desirable) * Operating a range of garden machinery including ride-on mowers, tractors, and power tools * Occasional external cleaning duties, such as jet washing patios and driveways * Supporting ground preparation ahead of events or garden parties * Sourcing and quoting for plants, equipment, and materials * Providing brief written updates to the Client and flagging any issues in a timely manner To apply for this role you must; • Be eligible to work in the UK • Have a valid DBS check or be willing to obtain one • Have excellent contactable references •Live locally and be able to commute to Bruton Somerset, with own vehicle • Have 3-5+ years’ experience working as a Gardener within a private household/Estate
