Overview
We are seeking a talented Private Chef to prepare simple, fresh, and nutritious meals for a warm and welcoming family based near Cambridge CB2. The family consists of up to four adults and two children, and the Chef will be responsible for preparing both lunch and dinner each day; Lunch: served at 12:30pm; Dinner: served at 5:30pm (Chef to return at 4:30pm, with prep completed earlier in the day). The focus is on healthy, organic cooking that is seasonal, flavoursome, and varied, without being overly fussy (healthy family-style cooking – soups, stews, proteins, and fresh seasonal dishes, [no pork]).
The Chef should have a strong knowledge of organic ingredients and menu-planning, ability to work independently, managing time between morning prep and evening service, and be discreet, adaptable, and professional. This is an ongoing, live-out role, ideal for a Chef looking for stability without the need for extensive travel or heavy entertaining commitments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare lunch at 12:30pm and dinner at 5:30pm, returning at 4:30pm with prep completed earlier in the day.
- Cook healthy, organic, seasonal meals that are flavoursome and varied, using a family‑style approach (suitable to up to four adults and two children) and excluding pork.
- Plan menus, manage time between morning prep and evening service, and maintain discretion, adaptability, and professionalism.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5+ years’ experience working as a Chef within a private household setting.
- Strong knowledge of organic ingredients and menu planning.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent references and DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Local to CB2 and ideally with own transport.
