We are seeking an experienced and motivated Housekeeper / Cook to manage the interiors of a beautifully refurbished 6-bedroom estate in Somerset on a Live-in or (local) Live-out basis
The principals are London-based and visit the residence for weekends and extended stays. Working alongside a House Manager/Groundsman this role is ideally suited to someone proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work to high standards with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning to a high standard with attention to detail: to include hoovering, dusting, washing all floors, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchen, utility room, inside windows, cleaning of marble, brass and fine furniture
- Laundry to include bed linen, clothing, delicate items and hand washing. Ironing and taking care of all family’s clothes to a high standard
- Managing and maintaining adults’ and kids’ wardrobes throughout, and care of cashmere knits, silks, and fine fabrics.
- Prepare simple daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) when the family are in residence
- Source and manage local/online food shopping and kitchen stock
- Attention to specialist finishes and fine furnishings including care for antiques, silver, china, and delicate artwork
- Set and serve formal/informal tables
- Welcome and assist guests andsupport when the family are entertaining
- Manage household inventories including wine cellar
- Liaison with the family PA to ensure smooth running of the household and communicatingregularly with the London office.

Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in a private household
- Right to work in the UK
- Full clean UK driving license
- Current DBS or willingness to obtain one
- Excellent, checkable references
