We are looking for a House Manager for a private household in Hampstead, North London.

This is a permanent position where you will be contracted to work 48 hours per week over 5 days, ordinarily working Tuesday to Saturday. The House Manager will be joining a small established household team, comprising Housekeeper, Chef and Nanny.

The position can be live-in or live-out. For a live-in candidate spacious self-contained accommodation can be provided.

This role would suit a proactive and highly organised candidate who has an excellent eye for detail. You will ideally have a strong housekeeping background, and be looking to move into household management to support a busy private family in a varied capacity.

Duties and responsibilities;

  • General organisation & tidiness of household
  • Wardrobe management, packing/unpacking for principals
  • Stock control & purchasing (from household supplies to gifts/clothes)
  • Liaising with contractors, organising deep cleans
  • Supporting with school runs, Saturday childcare, occasional homework help
  • Event support and assisting the Chef (dinner parties, entertaining)
  • Staff management: recruitment, training, rota/leave tracking
  • Travel to family’s country property a few times per year

To be considered for this role you must;

  • Have 5+ years of experience working within a private household
  • Hold the rights to work within the UK
  • Have excellent contactable references
  • Possess a driving license and be confident driving in London
  • Have (/ be willing to get) an up-to-date DBS certificate
