A private household in London is seeking a highly experienced House Manager to take overall responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of a large, fully staffed residence.
Reporting directly to the Principal, the House Manager will provide strong leadership across a household team of approximately 20 employees, taking responsibility for staff performance, household standards, administration, assets and the overall operational delivery of the residence. This is a senior management position requiring an individual who can combine strategic oversight with a highly practical understanding of private household operations.
Responsibilities will include:

The House Manager will oversee annual household planning, operating budgets and capital expenditure, alongside maintenance, repairs, security, health & safety and emergency procedures. They will coordinate external contractors and suppliers, oversee household reporting and ensure expenditure and operational performance are effectively monitored.
Acting as a key point of communication between the Principal, household team and external contractors, the successful candidate will anticipate requirements, identify and resolve operational issues and ensure the Principal remains appropriately informed regarding the residence and its operation.
We are looking for an accomplished private household professional with significant experience managing a large UHNW residence and substantial household team. The successful candidate will be an excellent people manager and communicator: calm, highly organised, discreet and capable of establishing authority while maintaining a positive and professional working environment. International travel may occasionally be required, sometimes at short notice.
