Location: Elstree Aerodrome, Hertfordshire (office-based)

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 gross per annum (DOE)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

A long-established and highly respected business based at Elstree Aerodrome is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of its day-to-day finance function. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll oversee the company’s financial operations, from multi-currency accounts and payroll to VAT, reconciliations, credit control and management reporting. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll play a key role in supporting the continued success and growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function across GBP, EUR and USD accounts.
  • Manage supplier invoices, payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Process payroll, NEST pension contributions and supplier payment runs.
  • Complete multi-currency bank reconciliations, UK & Netherlands VAT returns, petty cash and company credit card reconciliations.
  • Manage credit control, customer statements and aged debtors, liaising with customers and the senior management team regarding outstanding accounts.
  • Produce monthly management reports, including cash flow, aged debtors, aged creditors, bank balances and business KPIs.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director, Purchasing Manager, Trade Sales Manager and Business Development Director to support financial planning and decision-making.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, year-end accounts and identify opportunities to improve finance processes.

Requirements

  • Previous Finance Manager or similar accounts experience.
  • Strong bookkeeping, payroll and VAT knowledge.
  • Experience managing multi-currency accounts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using Access Dimensions accounting software would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
  • Highly organised, accurate and able to manage multiple priorities independently whilst working collaboratively within a team.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport, with the ability to commute reliably to Elstree Aerodrome.
  • Legal right to work in the UK with excellent contactable references.
