A cook is required for 10 hours a week, specifically on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 am to 2 pm, to cook simple, healthy batch meals for children at our nursery. Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or catering environment is necessary, and experience cooking for those with allergies or dietary requirements is preferred. We are happy to consider retired cooks or those looking to return to work, as well as individuals who have studied or are currently studying a catering or food-related subject.

Cook Requirements:

  • Previous experience cooking in a restaurant, café, or catering environment; school/nursery experience is a bonus but not essential.
  • Able to work alone, as this role involves working independently in a kitchen.
  • Experience cooking for those with dietary requirements and food allergies.
  • Willingness to work part-time (10 hours a week).

Cook Duties:

  • Cook simple, healthy meals for children.
  • Ability to cater for those with dietary requirements/allergies.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen, including mopping floors and cleaning surfaces.
  • Full awareness of food hygiene; ideally, you would have completed a level 2/level 3 in food hygiene.
  • Ability to cook on time and adhere to schedules.
  • Willingness to work in a childcare environment and interact with children when serving them.
