We are seeking an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to oversee our new 3 bedroom home in Fellowfield, Manchester for children / teens up to 18 years old. You MUST have an established track record of running and managing children's homes in the UK. You will receive a welcome bonus plus a bonus of up to £5,000 upon OFSTED registration. Children's Home Manager Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the home meets inspection standards under OFSTED and that all compliance is up to date, including awareness of any new policies and compliance information.
  • Responsible for Health and Safety, policies and procedures, ensuring all staff are aware.
  • Ensure positive outcomes are achieved through support of staff.
  • Manage and co-ordinate all needs of the home.
  • Ensure children and young people are included and consulted in all aspects of activities.
  • Create a safe, friendly and supportive home for the children and address any concerns that may be detrimental to this.
  • Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and wellbeing, making necessary adjustments to care plans as required.
  • Liaise and hold meetings with external agencies, key workers, professionals, and other staff, promoting a positive teamwork environment in the home.
  • Deal with HR - recruitment, interviewing, staff meetings, appraisals, and supervisions.
  • Manage and plan rotas and ensure contracted hours are in place for the children's support.
  • Maintain paperwork and records, ensuring they are up to date, and manage budgets and finance.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Children's Home Manager or Deputy Manager in a Children's Home in the UK is essential.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is essential.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership or willingness to undertake this (we will fund it).
  • Willingness to register as a manager with OFSTED.
  • Understanding of legislation, policies, compliance, and requirements of OFSTED.
  • Knowledge of the 'Children and Families Act 2014', Health & Social Care, Safeguarding, Person Centred Planning, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Social Care Common Inspection Framework.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Driving licence may sometimes be needed to take the children out.
