Location: Poplars Farm, Frampton Cotterell, Bristol
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per year + performance bonus Hours: 45 hours per week, including days, evenings and weekends.
Reports to: Directors About the Role This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the day-to-day operation of Poplars. You will oversee our front of house, work closely alongside the Head Chef and Events Manager, and ensure all areas of the business work together seamlessly.
You'll be equally comfortable leading a busy breakfast service, coordinating a large evening event, supporting behind the bar or coffee machine when needed, and motivating your team to deliver exceptional hospitality every day.
As Poplars continues to grow, you'll play a significant role in developing new ideas, improving systems, growing revenue and building a strong, positive culture.
Key Responsibilities Leadership Lead, inspire and develop a team of approximately 30–40 staff. Recruit, train and mentor supervisors and front of house staff. Conduct regular team meetings and daily briefings. Foster a positive, professional and customer-focused culture. Operations Take ownership of the daily operation of the café, restaurant, pizza kitchen and licensed events. Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times. Coordinate closely with the kitchen and events teams. Resolve customer issues professionally. Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly. Events Support the planning and delivery of private functions, live music and seasonal events. Ensure events are delivered efficiently while maintaining outstanding customer experience. Work flexibly during evenings and weekends when events require. Commercial Manage labour budgets and rotas. Drive sales opportunities and increase average customer spend. Monitor weekly KPIs including labour percentage, customer satisfaction and revenue. Help identify new revenue opportunities across the business. Compliance Maintain Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards. Ensure licensing conditions are followed. Manage cash handling and security procedures. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements. About You We're looking for someone who:
