This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy. The Vacancy Full Time - 35 Hours per week.

Poplar HARCA is an award-winning housing and regeneration organisation with a national reputation for innovative urban and social regeneration. An opportunity has arisen within our Housing Directorate for a Legal Executive. The Legal Executive will provide high-quality legal and administrative support, supporting the delivery of housing litigation, property, and commercial matters. The postholder will manage legal case files, draft documentation, undertake legal research, and liaise with in-house Teams and external counsel to ensure effective and compliant legal operations. This role will contribute to regulatory assurance, effective risk management, and the protection of the organisation’s legal and reputational interests.

The postholder's responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research and prepare briefings, summaries, and first-draft advice notes on relevant housing, property, and regulatory matters.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Liaise with courts, tribunals, external solicitors, counsel, and colleagues to track case progress, arrange hearings, and ensure timely filings.
  • Maintain accurate legal case records, databases, and filing systems in accordance with data protection and audit requirements.
  • Represent the organisation including at Court and tribunals.
  • Support the management of possession, injunction, disrepair, and leasehold enforcement cases in line with Pre-Action Protocols and internal litigation policies.
  • Maintain strong oversight of statutory compliance and landlord obligations.
  • Manage sensitive casework with professionalism, confidentiality, and legal compliance.
