The Role and Candidate

The Loss Prevention Manager will play a pivotal role in leading POP MART’s asset protection, shrinkage reduction, and security governance across its European retail operations. Reporting to the EU Head of Operations Support, you will manage a regional loss prevention executive and a small team of local loss prevention executives. This highly cross-functional position requires close collaboration with Supply Chain, Retail, HR, Compliance, and external security partners.

The successful candidate will develop and execute a robust loss prevention strategy that enhances store safety, strengthens stocktake governance, and delivers measurable reductions in shrinkage across multiple European markets.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop regional and local loss prevention executives to ensure consistent, high-quality performance
  • Provide strategic direction, set priorities, and ensure accountability across the Loss Prevention function
  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
Loss Prevention Strategy & Governance
  • Develop, implement, and refine a comprehensive European loss prevention strategy
  • Ensure strong governance frameworks for shrinkage control, stocktake execution, and inventory accuracy
  • Partner with the Head of Supply Chain to define stocktake processes, documentation, and accountability standards
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits across stores and warehouses
Theft, Fraud & Shrinkage Control
  • Oversee investigations into internal and external theft, fraud, and operational losses
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and ensure compliance with local legislation
  • Design and implement anti-theft policies, training, and awareness programmes for retail teams
  • Build preventative controls that minimise loss and drive a strong security culture
Security, Surveillance & Technology
  • Oversee CCTV, EAS, alarm systems, and access control measures
  • Manage third-party security vendor relationships and monitor contractual performance
  • Ensure effective incident reporting and emergency response protocols
  • Champion digital transformation and the adoption of advanced security and analytics tools
Data, Reporting & Analytics
  • Analyse shrinkage KPIs to identify risk patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and predictive analytics to proactively identify operational vulnerabilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Store Operations, HR, and Compliance to embed a strong loss prevention culture
  • Support new store openings through risk assessments and security specification reviews
  • Build governance frameworks and communication channels with external vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies
  • Deliver training to store leadership teams on theft deterrence and incident management

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Loss Prevention, Asset Protection, or Security Management across a multi-site retail environment
  • Deep understanding of European regulations, shrinkage control, and fraud prevention practices
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
  • Strong investigative skills and proficiency with CCTV systems, EAS, and related technologies
  • Excellent analytical ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement proactive solutions
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in another European language is highly advantageous
  • Willingness to travel across Europe as needed

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Experience in luxury, high-value goods, or FMCG retail
  • Familiarity with Organised Retail Crime (ORC) and current European retail crime trends
  • Professional certifications in Loss Prevention, Security Management, or Risk Analysis
