The Role and Candidate
The Loss Prevention and Health & Safety Specialist will play a critical role in managing risk, ensuring compliance, and fostering a safe and secure environment across POP MART’s European operations. Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, this role integrates loss prevention and health & safety initiatives to protect assets, employees, and customers while aligning with company standards and local regulations.
As part of a dynamic and expanding team, you will be expected to create tailored strategies that address loss prevention and health & safety needs in each region while ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals.
Responsibilities
Loss Prevention:
- Conduct regular store audits and identify vulnerabilities, implementing corrective measures to minimize shrinkage and protect assets
- Analyse loss trends, prepare actionable reports, and recommend strategic improvements to senior management
- Investigate theft, fraud, and incidents of internal loss, working closely with law enforcement as required
- Train store teams on loss prevention best practices and incident management
Health & Safety:
- Ensure all store locations comply with health and safety regulations across the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to prevent workplace accidents
- Lead training sessions on safety protocols, emergency response, and safe working practices
- Monitor the use of safety equipment, including PPE, to ensure compliance and best practices
Policy Development & Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive loss prevention and health & safety policies tailored to the needs of the UK and European markets
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure policies align with local laws and regulations
- Roll out new policies across stores, providing training and support to ensure effective implementation
- Regularly review and update policies to adapt to changing risks, regulations, and company goals
Strategic Integration:
- Align loss prevention and health & safety initiatives to support the company’s broader operational goals
- Participate in regional leadership meetings to provide updates and insights on safety and security measures
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a combined loss prevention and/or health & safety role, preferably in retail
- Strong understanding of UK and European health & safety regulations and loss prevention strategies
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies across multiple locations
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills (French, German, Italian, or Spanish) are advantageous
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience working across multiple European countries
- Familiarity with designer toy retail operations or pop culture trends
- Certifications in Health & Safety Management, Risk Management, or a related field
