The Role

As part of our expanding European operations, we are seeking a Business Development Intern – Europe to support our Retail Expansion team in identifying growth opportunities and driving new store openings across key markets. Reporting to the Regional Retail Expansion team, you will assist in market research, site evaluation, commercial analysis, and cross-functional coordination to support POP MART’s continued retail growth across Europe. This role is ideal for a commercially curious and analytical individual looking to gain exposure to real estate strategy, retail expansion, and international business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support market research and competitor analysis across European markets
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential retail locations, including high streets, shopping centres, and travel hubs
  • Prepare site analysis reports, financial feasibility models, and presentation materials
  • Support landlord and agent communications, meeting coordination, and documentation tracking
  • Assist in lease documentation review and internal approval workflows
  • Track project timelines and coordinate with cross-functional teams (Construction, VM, HR, Logistics) to support store openings
  • Maintain expansion databases, reporting dashboards, and pipeline trackers
  • Contribute insights to support country-level retail strategies and new market entry assessments

Key Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Real Estate, Economics, Retail Management, or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical mindset with good commercial awareness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English; additional European language(s) are advantageous
