The Role and Candidate

The Area Manager is responsible for leading the performance of multiple POP MART retail stores across London. This role ensures the delivery of outstanding customer experiences, strong commercial performance, and operational excellence while developing store management teams to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Store Managers and their teams across multiple London locations.
  • Drive sales, profitability, and KPI performance through effective commercial leadership.
  • Monitor store performance, analysing trends and implementing action plans to improve results.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service across all stores.
  • Conduct regular store visits, audits, and performance reviews to maintain operational excellence.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain talented retail managers, creating strong succession plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety legislation, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Work closely with Visual Merchandising teams to ensure brand standards are consistently maintained.
  • Support new store openings, relocations, and refurbishment projects.
  • Manage labour costs, scheduling, and payroll budgets to maximise productivity.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, Marketing, and Retail Operations to deliver company initiatives.
  • Produce regular business reports and present performance updates to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer engagement.
  • Build a positive, high-performance culture that reflects POP MART's values.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Area Manager, District Manager, or Regional Manager within a multi-site retail environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering sales growth and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and people development skills.
  • Experience managing multiple retail locations simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience using retail KPIs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable, with willingness to travel extensively across London.

Desirable but Not Essential

  • Experience within premium retail, lifestyle brands, collectibles, or designer toys.
  • Experience supporting new store openings and retail expansion projects.
  • Familiarity with the UK retail market and shopping centre operations.
  • Passion for pop culture, collectibles, and designer toys.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin or Chinese is an advantage but not essential.
