ABOUT POOLSIDE
In this decade, the world will create artificial intelligence that reaches human level intelligence (and beyond) by combining learning and search. Poolside exists to be one of these companies - to build a world where AI will drive the majority of economically valuable work and scientific progress.
We believe that software development will be the first major capability in neural networks that reaches human-level intelligence because it's the domain where we can combine Search and Learning approaches the best.
At Poolside we believe our applied research needs to culminate in products that are put in the hands of people. Today we focus on building for a developer-led increasingly AI-assisted world.
ABOUT OUR TEAM
We are a remote-first team that sits across Europe and North America and comes together once a month in-person for 3 days and for longer offsites twice a year. Our R&D and production teams are a combination of more research and more engineering-oriented profiles, however, everyone deeply cares about the quality of the systems we build and has a strong underlying knowledge of software development.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be the owner of corporate technology at Poolside. Reporting to our Head of Security, you'll own how employees get access to what they need, from their first day through the entire employee lifecycle, and modernize it as you go. You'll run identity and access management across Okta, Google Workspace, and the rest of our stack, scale it through automation, and help stand up the endpoint tooling we're still building out.
This is a high ownership, hands-on role. You’ll partner directly with Engineering, Infrastructure, People, and Operations teams to design IAM workflows that balance security with velocity and a genuinely good employee experience.
YOUR MISSION
To make secure access a frictionless and effortless process for everyone building Poolside’s models and products, from day one through offboarding.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own onboarding and offboarding end to end, so every employee, contractor, and partner gets the right access fast and loses it cleanly when they leave.
- Automate repetitive operational stacks across our stack with scripts, APIs, and agents.
- Run day to day IAM across Okta, Google Workspace, and other internal applications.
- Provision and deprovision accounts and devices, and assist to mature our endpoint tooling over time (EDR, MDM).
- Be the trusted point of contact for employee technology and access, resolve internal issues quickly, and turn recurring issues into self-serve solutions.
- Lead access reviews and own IAM related audit controls for SOC2, ISO27001, and ISO42001.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Hands-on experience running onboarding/offboarding in a corporate IT or Security environment, with a strong grasp of IAM and least-privilege principles.
- Hands-on experience with SSO and identity providers (Okta, Google Workspace, etc) and automation spanning multiple internal platforms.
- Familiarity with endpoint management tooling (Jamf, Kandji/Iru, Intune) and EDR tooling (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar).
- Clear operational documentation, strong troubleshooting skills, and the discretion to handle sensitive data.
- A proactive ownership mindset and comfort operating where processes are still being built.
- Experience collaborating across HR, Engineering, and Security Teams.
- Plus: Scripting or agent-based automation, compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001/42001), and building operational metrics/dashboards.
