What This Role Is Here To Do (Role Purpose)
As a Bar Back at Poolhouse, you’re the behind-the-scenes engine that helps our high-volume bar run fast, clean, and efficiently. Working closely with Bartenders and the Bar Manager, you’ll support with prep, stock, cleanliness, and pace, making sure everything needed is in the right place at the right time. You’ll thrive on movement, team spirit, and pride in setting others up to succeed.
What Success Looks Like
- Bartenders can move quickly because their stations are clean, stocked, and organised
- Bar areas are tidy, safe, and guest-presentable at all times
- Glassware is constantly replenished and available
- You anticipate what’s needed before it’s asked for
- Bar waste and recycling are managed efficiently and safely
- You bring energy, care, and a team-first attitude to every shift
With experience, this role could lead to:
- Bartender
- Bar Supervisor

Key Responsibilities
- Keep all bar stations stocked with clean glassware, ice, garnishes, and utensils
- Assist with bar prep including restocking fridges, cutting fruit, and filling up speed rails
- Maintain cleanliness and order throughout bar areas during service
- Support with bar waste removal, recycling, and storage organisation
- Help receive and store deliveries accurately and safely
- Communicate clearly with bartenders and follow instructions quickly
- Maintain hygiene and health & safety standards at all times
- Be responsive to shifts in pace and step in to support where needed
