As a Games Host, you’ll be the personality that gets groups excited, explains the rules with clarity and charm, and keeps the energy high throughout.
You’ll ensure that every guest feels comfortable, included, and entertained, while also confidently handling the practical side, from troubleshooting small tech issues to coordinating food and drinks for the group.
Your confidence, warmth, and likeability will set the tone for each event.
Offensive to no one, charming to all — you’ll make sure every guest leaves with a smile and a story to tell.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome groups warmly, register teams on tech kiosk to start the play, and explain game rules clearly and engagingly.
- Host and facilitate events, ensuring everyone feels included and enjoys themselves.
- Troubleshoot small tech issues quickly and calmly, keeping games running smoothly.
- Take the lead on service, supporting the waiting team and ensuring a smooth and consistent guest experience.
- Coordinate food and drinks service for groups, working with the bar and kitchen teams.
- Keep energy levels high and adapt your style to the mood of the group.
- Monitor guest experience throughout, checking in to resolve issues before they become problems.
- Support wider team goals by stepping in wherever needed.
- Ensure your workspace is clean, all equipment kept in good working condition, all daily duties are actioned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer facing roles preferred (e. g. waiter, host, bartender, events staff).
- Confidence speaking to groups and presenting clearly.
- Interest in cue sports (pool/snooker) is a plus but not essential.
- Theatre, performance, or hosting experience is a plus but not essential.
- A natural people person — confident, approachable, and universally likeable.
- Excellent communicator with strong presentation and hosting skills.
- Comfortable with technology.
- Knowledgeable in our food and drinks products, provide excellent recommendation to guests and is natural at selling.
- Organised and proactive in coordinating food, drinks, and event flow.
- Adaptable, resilient, and able to read the room.
- Works well as part of a team, embodying Poolhouse values in every interaction.
