Poolhall Recruitment is seeking a PR Manager on behalf of a dynamic Brighton-based PR agency. This is a fantastic step-up opportunity for someone ready to move from a junior or mid-level role into a more senior position. This role would suit an ex-journalist, Digital PR Specialist, Content & Outreach professional, Influencer with PR experience, or anyone with a solid grounding in agency or in‑house PR. You’ll help shape impactful media strategies, craft compelling narratives, and build strong media relationships that elevate client profiles. Working closely with the PR and digital teams, you’ll drive integrated campaigns across press, social, and online platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Media Strategy & Coverage
- Develop strategic media plans with creative hooks and digital‑first thinking
- Create original story angles that secure trade, regional, and national coverage
- Proactively pitch to journalists, editors, and broadcasters
- Identify and react quickly to emerging media opportunities across sectors
- Lead day‑to‑day campaign execution, from media list creation to coverage reporting
- Write press releases, case studies, and bylined articles tailored to different audiences
- Distribute PR materials using media database tools
- Collaborate with digital, social, and SEO colleagues to ensure cohesive content
- Monitor and evaluate performance, providing insights and recommendations
- Act as a trusted day‑to‑day contact for client accounts
- Support new business activity, including proposals and pitch meetings
- Build relationships with industry bodies, influencers, and partners to boost campaign reach
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent writing skills across press releases, features, and digital content
- Strong media relations experience and a track record of securing press coverage
- Confident communicator with solid client‑handling skills
- Good understanding of social platforms (especially LinkedIn and Meta)
- Comfortable collaborating with digital, content, and SEO teams
