Poolhall Recruitment is working with an established but growing, design-led residential developer to appoint an experienced Architect. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering a strong pipeline of residential-led schemes across the West Midlands and beyond. You’ll play a key role across all project stages, contributing to both design and technical delivery within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute across all RIBA work stages
  • Develop design proposals from concept through to construction
  • Produce and manage detailed drawing packages using Revit
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams
  • Prepare and oversee planning applications and technical submissions
  • Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site visits
  • Ensure design quality, compliance, and technical accuracy
  • Support delivery against project programmes and deadlines

Requirements

  • Qualified Architect (ARB registered or equivalent)
  • Strong experience within a UK architectural practice
  • Proven track record in residential developments (mixed-use advantageous)
  • Strong design and technical capability with attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of UK planning policy and Building Regulations
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative approach
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or SketchUp beneficial

Location & Working Pattern

  • Based in the West Midlands, with regular attendance at the Birmingham office required
  • Some flexibility for hybrid working, depending on project needs
